be grateful is everything

I have come to learn that we should be grateful for everything that happens to us in our lives. Well, at least most things are things we should be grateful for except for severe personal losses. It is through this gratitude that we learn that for everything that happens, there is always a reason behind that event. I did not always think like this. But now that I have gotten older, I realize the full power of gratitude and how it can help us to become better people.

The first reason that I believe that we should be grateful for what happens to us is because at the most basic level this is part of life. In life, there are always going to be gains and losses as well as ups and downs. It is through these occurrences that we experience life on both levels. If there were only good things happening to us in our lives, our lives would be perfect. But perfection as we know it does not exist on this Earth. One of the main things that life has taught me is that in life, there is never fairness. Fairness is only an ideal situation. It is often said that experience is the greatest teacher. So when we live on this Earth, we have different experiences. And these experiences determine who we areas individuals in terms of our skills, abilities and talents.

The next reason that I believe that we should be grateful for what happens to us is that there is a lesson behind each event. This is true regardless of whether that event happening is a good or a bad event. You will realize that on a deeper level, there can be no good or bad in your life anymore if you are truly present and going with the flow of life.

Another reason to be grateful for what happens to us is that whatever happens to us, our situation is still going to be better than millions of other people around the world. There are always going to be people that are poorer than us or less fortunate than us in some way. If you had a warm meal tonight at the dinner table with your family or loved one, consider yourself very fortunate and grateful. There are so many people in the world who no longer have their parents because their parents passed away when they were young. There are millions of people around the world with not enough food to eat. They are starving and living under very harsh conditions.

You are well ahead of these people because you had a chance to have a warm meal tonight. You are also ahead of many other people in the world if you have access to running water that is clean and electricity. If you have good or great health, you are still further ahead of many millions of people. I have to admit it wasn’t always this easy for me to think these kinds of thoughts.

And one more reason that I believe that humans should be grateful for what happens to them is that each event teaches us something about life. This goes back to what I mentioned earlier about there being a lesson behind each event. These events may be a signal for us to try and improve a certain aspect of our lives. Or an event which happens to us may be a signal to us that we are on the right track and that we should keep on going in that direction.

This is just a short list of the reasons why I believe that we should be grateful for what happens in our lives. Just remember that the Universe is there to bless you although it may not seem that way sometimes. I pray for world peace and I always try to treat others with kindness, love and respect.
